Osterman Silences Racers Bats

Racers and Pride players sign autographs after the Pride's 12-0 victory Thursday night.
Cat Osterman gave up only 2 hits to the Akron Racers Thursday night as she watched her offense light up the scoreboard 12-0. The only two Racers hits came by way of  Lisa Modglin's 1st inning double and Sam Marder's 4th inning single. The Pride scored in every inning but the 7th and was led by Megan Willis' 2 bombs. The lost drops the Racers to 10-14 and the Pride improve to 14-10 with the win.
The pitching matchup of Thorson vs Osterman, two of the worlds best and two pitchers coming off of offseason surgeries, had plenty of intrigue. Cat made sure it was one sided striking out 10, dropping her ERA to 0.75 for the season. Thorson gave up 5 earned runs on 6 hits. Mineau and Norris also pitched for the Racers, giving up 4 and 2 runs respectively.
The Pride bats were out and working tonight! Nine players recorded a hit and seven got a run across the plate. Megan Willis' career night at the plate led the charge, she had 2 homers and 3 RBI's. Caitlin Lowe was 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored. Natasha Watley went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Andrea Duran went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored.
The series continues tomorrow at 7:05 PM at Firestone Stadium, 7:05 PM on Saturday and 2:05 PM on Sunday. Follow the Racers on Twitter @AkronRacers and the NPF @profastpitch
