Back in Canton, Back to .500, Charge Win 104-95

 December 23rd, 2011

The Canton Charge coming off a four game road trip in which they went one and three, went up against the Sioux Falls SkyForce tonight at the Canton Civic Center. The Charge won the game 104-95 in a game that featured some of the best basketball Canton has played this year. Canton was lead by T.J. Campbell with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Now in eight games with the Charge Dante Milligan has four double doubles, he added 14 points and 17 rebounds tonight. Forward Tyrell Biggs in his first game back after being cut from the Cleveland Cavaliers preseason camp contributed 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists. The Charge had six players in double figures and shot 52.7% from the field. The Charge also out rebounded the SkyForce 41-33. The Charge lead at halftime 53-58 and established control of the game early in the 3rd Quarter on a 21-3 run. The SkyForce cut the lead to 7 in the fourth quarter but that was as close as they would get.

After the game Coach Alex Jensen was happy overall with the teams performance, he felt it was a good win and the team played some very good stretches of basketball, but also in the late second half had some sloppy play. Coach Jensen said he was happy with the game TJ Campbell had with 10 assists and contributed some of the late turnovers to the guard being tired. Jensen said that he was happy with the way Campbell was able to step up and play well while Charge guard Keith McLeod was in camp with Utah. Coach Jensen felt tonight that the team was able to play a more balanced game with Biggs back in action along with Milligan and it lead to better perimeter play and more open perimeter shots. Jensen felt that the Charge were able to capitalize on transition points and being able to "fall into three's" as instead of "hunting" them. The Charge shot 50% from the three point like. Antoine Aguido lead the team going two for two from beyond the arc, and Campbell went two of five.

The Sioux Falls Skyforce who shot 47.4% from the field were lead by former NBA player Anthony Mason's son Anthony Mason Jr. who started the game with 16 points in the first half and finished the game with 23 points and six rebounds. Coach Jensen said he was very happy with the way his team took to the challenge at halftime and held Mason in check in the second half.
