The Canton Charge begin to put new names and faces in wine and gold jerseys tomorrow night at 7pm during the 2011 NBDL Draft. The Canton Charge hold the 15th pick out of 16 tomorrow night. Unlike the NBA the NBDL use a "serpentine" format in which the team who has the last pick in the first round then holds the first pick of the second round. Which means the Charge will hold the 15th and 18th picks in the first two rounds of the eight round draft. Unfortunately the Charge no longer hold their second or third round picks due to moves the New Mexico Thunderbirds made prior to being acquired by the Cleveland Cavaliers organization. The Charge currently have only two players under contract for the 2011-2012 season, newly signed Jamine Peterson and former Canton McKinley Bulldog and NBA veteran Keith McLeod (See Player Profiles Below). Each team holds 10 active players during the season, so its safe to say that Charge GM Wes Wilcox and his staff have their work cut out for them with only six picks. The LA Defenders won the draft lottery at the coaches meetings in Colorado over the summer and will pick first. Visit the NBDL website to take a look at the top 30 players to watch for during the draft. Also visit the website to tune into a live chat and conference call to listen as each pick is made.
