Akron Racers 2nd Baseman Nicole Pauly on...
...flying under the radar.
"I do what I can to help my team win and that's my main goal. I'm not a showy player, I don't go out there and try to get the fans all jazzed up, I just go do my job and help my team win."

...where the Racers stand a week before the Championship Series.
"We just need to put all the pieces together. Right now it's parts of our game that are shining at different moments, it's nice to see that those parts are still shining. When we get to the championship hopefully we can put it all together."

Chicago Bandits Outfielder Megan Wiggins on...
...where the Bandits stand a week before the Championship Series.
"I think we're doing good. I think as a team we're taking a lot better at-bats then we had been as a whole. Executing in situations maybe earlier int he season...we got the other half of it, like we got out instead of getting a run in or getting a hit through, you know."

...the difference between her rookie season and now.
"It's not going to be as easy to sneak up on people. I think your rookie season is your best time to sneak up on people and do really well. So now people already know who I am and what I can do so it's really on me to be disciplined and focusing on what I can do best to help the team. Keep it simple."

Akron Racers Shortstop Alicia Herron on...
...whats she's going to do with her first home run ball.
"I don't know where it's at but I'm going to treasure it forever! It's really huge to me, really huge. So I'm excited!"

...toughest difference in the NPF and college.
"Keeping your confidence. It's the biggest transition, you're playing with the best so you have to keep believing in yourself. Even when you're going through the ruts, you gotta stay up!"

...staying focused defensively while slumping at the plate.
"Well if one(part of the game) is failing, I always try to keep one solid. All else fails I'm gonna keep my solid D, and just do it. Fake it til I make it so to speak. Until I get it in the box I just want to stay solid on D. It's all I can do."

Chicago Bandits 1st Baseman Alisa Goler on...
...how she's feeling about the season.
"It's almost the end, it's kinda sad. We have one series left and then championships.

...how the Bandits are feeling going into the Championship Series.
"Great! We went through an awful stretch in the month of July where nothing went out way hitting-wise so you have to be happy when you put up that many runs."

...any change from her Rookie of the Year season last year.
"Pitching's tougher. More walks. It's how it is. Believe me I'd love to hit as many home runs as I did in my first year but...it's whatever, it's all about OBP."

...how her role has changed since last year.
"You know, like you said, since we lost some veterans, we have a relatively young team, some new rookies. Yeah I have more of a leadership role, I'm still not one of the older ones. Just certain things I've had to step up more, which is fine, its not a bad thing, just different."
