After seeing how fans reacted to the Buckeyes lost Saturday I was unsure if I wanted to continue being a Bucks fan. I have learned that most fans are so blinded by winning and losing that they lack class, common-sense and a basic knowledge of football. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Florida State football fan first and foremost, but I am also all Buckeyes all the time. Another issue I had was not only fans but Ohio State graduate Dustin Fox attempting to trend #bausermansux on Twitter. Are you kidding me? It's one thing for fans to come down on players but a former Buckeye? One that got picked on by opposing QB's on a weekly basis at that! As a Canton guy I had only respect and admiration for Dustin but that is all but gone.
Let's get one thing straight, Bauserman isn't our starting QB, and isn't our best QB. Why are our fans expecting our 2nd or 3rd string QB to put up 1st string numbers? Is it Bausermans fault that the coaching staff had him throwing more in 1.5 qtrs than they had Miller throw in 2.5? Absolutely not! He got on the field with a two touchdown lead and did exactly what the coaches asked him to do, throw the football! I think we need to look at the coaching staff for answers to why we didn't keep the football on he ground with a big lead, especially while Hyde was averaging 8 yards a carry, but most fans will and are blaming Bauserman.
We also need to look at the defense, Bauserman surely didn't give up almost 100 yards rushing to Martinez in the second half. In Fact, Miller is the QB who fumbled to start the rally, giving the Huskers the ball on our own 24 yard line. Bauserman NEVER put our defense in a bad position! The 3 scoring drives from Nebraska while Bauserman was in went 80 yards, 72 yards, and 78 yards! However the fans will find a way to blame Bauserman.
The most shameful part of all of this is the Buckeye fans have so many other people who they should look at for getting us in this situation, yet they insult and blame the QB who "lost the lead in one game." I think I've already proved, without a doubt, Bauserman is not at blame for this, but now fans need to evaluate what they want and expect from these players. I was getting tweets saying winning is all that matters and it only comes down to winning. Well in the most respectful manner possible, anyone who says or thinks that is ignorant! I would of thought that losing all of our wins last year would let people know that here are more important things. Wins can be taken away in a second, therefore going about being successful in the right way is way more important. If pryor doesn't cheat, he is still our QB and were 6-0 looking for a national title, why not blame him? If Tressel doesn't lie, he's still our coach and we don't have to worry about poor decisions from the coaching staff and we win Saturday, why not blame him? Why blame a guy who has given 5 years of his life to be a Buckeye and has had no playing time ever. A guy who could be getting paid to play professional baseball right now but instead goes though, what other players explain as such a rough time financially. Joe Bauserman illustrates what we have been missing at Ohio State and what we should be striving to get back to and yet he takes the heat for the loss. It's ridiculous and inexcusable, Ohio State fans need to check themselves and question whether or not they're even fit to be fans.

we can't blame bauserman for that loss even though he clearly did not help things. the defense, which had been dominating the game, forgot how to tackle and the coaching staff didn't utilize the running game when it was an obvious strength the whole game. i'm not a fan of bauserman and have no idea what the university saw in him to begin with talent wise but he is not to blame for this loss. he didn't play linebacker and he didn't coach so he shouldnt be targeted as the reason for the loss.
I agree that some of the comments, like Fox's tweet, were out of line. But that does not change the fact that Bauserman cannot play the position. That's not opinion, but proven by his play on the field! So, is that Joe's fault? No. It's up to the coaches to put their players in position to do what is possible for them to do. At the same time, Joe needed to make a play for his team. In order to do that, he needed to throw the ball WITHIN the field of play, not into the 3rd row of the stands to a girl with a large ear of corn on her head! His one completion was to a guy who had to sit on his butt to make the catch. 5 years in the program and this is where he is? That falls on his coaches, for sure, but it also says something about how hard he has been trying to get better. But you make good points in other areas. In particular I agree that this is a direct result of Tressel, Pryor etal's actions.
